The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 requires action by every employer who sponsors a health & welfare plan (fully insured or self-insured), even employers under 20 employees!

Department of Labor Releases COBRA Subsidy Website and Model Notices

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 requires new, employer COBRA responsibilities that you should be fully informed about for employers who sponsor a health and welfare plan (fully insured or self-insured). These new responsibilities extend even to employers who fall under the mini-state COBRA regulations, like Cal-COBRA. This new Act provides for COBRA premium relief for certain eligible former employees and requires the employer to provide a Model Notice to these eligible employees (“Assistance Eligible Individuals”).

To find additional information and obtain Model Notices, go to the Department of Labor website.
